Our Ethos
Marlborough Day Nursery has been established since 1990 and is synonymous with exceedingly high standards of care, learning and development. We believe in the importance of celebrating every child as an individual and as such we have built our long-standing reputation in maintaining an environment in which our children are happy, confident and independent individuals.
Many local families have entrusted the care of their children in the nursery since opening. Following new ownership in 2012 the Proprietors demonstrated a commitment to re-invest into the nursery with expansions in 2016 and then again in 2018 meeting the increased demand for childcare spaces within the community.
Working in partnership with parents/carers is vital for effective holistic care learning and development for the child. This is achieved by building relationships with the child and family through the key person approach. We believe by working in partnership we can have a huge impact on every child’s development and learning journey.
We are renowned for our exceedingly high standards and strive for quality and excellence in all that we do. This is actively promoted by leaders and managers through coaching and mentoring as they empower the workforce, keep up to date with guidance, legislation and pedagogical concepts.
Reflected within our innovative, high-quality learning environment is the curriculum and planning. We use a play-based approach, tuning into each children’s individual interests and developmental needs to provide opportunities and motivation so children can practice and develop basic skills, develop self-confidence and learn to share. We encourage thinking skills and decision making, nourish curiosity, develop concentration and stimulate interest, in order to provide a secure basis for further and lifelong learning. The outdoors is integral and used daily to develop physical, investigative and exploration skills and to support the delivery of a rich, exciting and meaningful curriculum.
